PUBLIC RELATIONS UNIT

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Prior to the appointment of Prof. Taoheed Adedoja in 1996, the College used committees for her Public Relations activities, the last of such committee was headed by Mr. Fredrick Adeleke Ayoku ( a blind lecturer).  But on Prof. Adedoja’s appointment in 1996, a full fledge Public Relations Unit was established in the Provost’s Office.

 

The pioneer Public Relation Officer was Miss M. B. Babatope (now Mrs. M. B. Oso) 1996-2004.  Followed by Mrs. S. A. Adeyemi 2004 – 2015.  Mr. V. G. Ajayi 2015 till date.

To provide prompt/accurate information about College and its activities.  Facilitate mutual and control relationship between and among the various stakeholders.  Promote goodwill, attract partnership with non-governmental, public spirited individuals.

 

FUNCTIONS OF THE UNIT:

Media Relations – The unit ensured that all major activities on campus such as

Matriculations, Convocations are reported both by print and electronic media.

MC @ College functions

Orientation programme for New Staff/Students.

 

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT

i           Facilitated visit of the new Provost to neighboring communities – Jobele, Awe Akinmorin,

 Ilora and Oyo (the Alafin)

ii          Familiarization of the new Provost to all the departments/units and schools

iii         Press interviews to the Sun Newspaper and Youth Spring Magazine.

iv         Production of News Bulletin (Sped News)

v          Production and Updating of staff telephone directory

vi         Documentary of the College by NTA Oyo

vii        College Website is loaded with activities and information

viii       Anchoring College programmes.

ix         Worked with various security agencies on College activities which has facilitated the peace enjoyed in the College
