VISION, MISSION, AND PHILOSOPHY OF THE SCHOOL
VISION
To train and produce professionals in arts and social sciences programmes technically skilled in manpower for Special needs Education at Primary and Secondary School Education.
To undertake thorough research in the field of arts and social sciences in relation to the peculiarities of People with Special needs within Nigeria society and advance the training for leading thinkers in a wide range of areas of talents.
MISSION STATEMENT
TO produce NCE teachers in the areas of arts and social sciences with regards to Special needs Education who are highly professionals, competent and committed to the training of learners at Primary and Secondary Level in Nigeria.
To produce manpower in the areas of arts and social sciences with high level of technologies that will enable them cope considering a rich and varied array of unit’s taught by dedicated and enthusiastic Scholars whose outstanding research inform their teaching at every level.
To help the Students acquire the basic knowledge and values needed to enhance the quality of their lives and the Nation at large.
To help the students acquire the spirit of self-reliance, positive self image and balanced personality.
To prepare students for life-long education.

HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
School of Secondary Education (Arts and Social Sciences Programmes) one of the seven schools of the Federal College of Education (Sp.), Oyo is headed by a Dean who is both academic and administrative head. The Dean however is administratively supported by Sub-dean and the School
Officer with other Registry staff of the School for efficient and effective discharge of administrative functions in the School. The School is made up of ten (10) Departments namely: Cultural and Creative Arts, Christian Religious Studies, Economics, Geography, History, Islamic Religious Studies,
Music, Social Studies, Political Science and Theatre Arts. Each Department is headed by a Head, officially referred to as Head of Department.
ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE OF THE SCHOOL
School of Secondary Education (Arts and Social Sciences) is structurally arranged thus:
The Dean who is both the academic and administrative Head of the School is assisted academically in the School by the Sub-dean and Heads of Department. At the same time, the School Officer is also very much on ground for the general, efficient and effective administration of the School.
The structural arrangement of the School descendingly extends to the lecturers, instructors and professional technical, administrative staff and clerical officers.
