To produce highly qualified special educators, para-professionals, engage in diagnosis/assessments through research, training and production of special educational equipment for the use of the students and general society and deploying highly competent and motivated work force.

Uniqueness of the College
The College is the only one of its kind in Nigeria and Sub-Sahara Africa. It has:
- The largest students with disabilities that could be found in any Higher Institution in Nigeria.
- 24 Academic Staff in the School of Special Education have PhD.
- The largest concentration of specialized facilities for teaching and training of teachers of Special Needs children in Nigeria.
